LMC Shifts Glo Premier League Double Header for Late Kano Emir

The League Management Company (LMC) have moved Glo Premier League matches scheduled for Saturday, 7 June, in Kano till further notice in tribute to the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, who died on Friday aged 83.

The people of the ancient city have sidelined the whole of the weekend as a period of mourning, in honour of the late Emir- the second most important Muslim leader in Northern Nigeria.

LMC as well respects the traditional rites of the people and have hence; shifted the double-header billed for Kano.

On that note Kano Pillars vs Dolphins and El-Kanemi vs Rangers have been put on hold.

Pillars media officer Idris Malikawa told AfricanFootball.com that a new date has been communicated to the team.

LMC has agreed to our request to postpone our match against Dolphins which was to be played on Saturday due to the death of our Emir, Ado Bayero, Malikawa said.

The match will now be played on Saturday 14th June.

Meanwhile, Match Day 8 rescheduled fixture between Kano Pillars and Bayelsa United will go on as scheduled on Wednesday, June 11, 2014.

Eight matches will take place simultaneously on Sunday. League leaders, Sharks, Enyimba, Warri Wolves and Nasarawa United will continue in the race to finish top of the table after the first round of matches against Akwa United, Giwa FC, Kaduna United and Abia Warriors.

The other matches are Crown FC vs. Bayelsa United, Heartland vs. Lobi Stars, Gombe United vs. FC Taraba and Nembe City vs. Sunshine Stars.
